Owner of the galore store (who'sit and what'sits). Think little mermaid selling human things. She is a red-haired mermaid with a preference for the colour purple. A divorcee with a daughter. Named Rea. Daughter is Harmony. Husband left her for that bitch Vanessa.

A part of the shell where males gave females intricate small gifts (trinkets) to try convince them to mate. However, like actual turtles, temperature affects the sex that eggs hatch as so now there are more males than females so the species is very slowly dying out.

The Nay-sayer. Everyone is doing too much of too much. Nostro.

Neighbourhood

Old town. The tippy top of the shell. The buildings are made of the scales and pieces of the shell. Iridescent and vibrant. City Hall is in this neighbourhood.

Landmark

In and around the calcified heart and bones of the dragon turtle is a beautifully coloured and full of life new reef. Used as a shrine to ancestors, and as a resting place for their dead, to be consumed by the sea. Believe that they turn into sea form and become one with the oceans in their death.

Statue of a mermaid made completely from remnants of shell and coral. Founder of the city, who convinced the dragon turtle to allow them sanctuary in return for cleansing. Known as the care-taker.

Neighbourhood

An adjacent neighbourhood of sea-elves that work as a go-between for the merfolk and the dwarves. Their buildings are on the sea floor rather than the dragon turtles back out of respect. They are still quite prone to wanderlust and often stay only a few years (5 - 10) before moving on.

Faction

Artistry all through-out the city. Very free, they do this anywhere. The entire city is covered in constantly changing, over-worked and re-worked in paint and song and sculpture.

A non-magical glass dome filled with air using pipes. The political area for visitors and traders.

Resident

Mer Matron.
The Queen. Tetis. Remembers speaking with the dragon-turtle. Has seven daughters, all from the same clutch (which is unheard of) and has brought complications to the heiress situation. They have to have competitions and try to judge who would be best. Fathers have those fathers trying to influence things so their daughters succeed. Colour is passed down from the father to prevent in-breeding.

Due to the decline of males, some males are chosen as prime applicants to 'aid' those females who could not tempt a mate.

Resident

Armour maker. With the death of the dragon turtle, the resource of the scales which they used to create their armour is gone. She is researching new material, but fears that their old enemies, the sahuagin , will find them and destroy them. Typhie Lashine.

Faction

As obsessed with war as with art. They see no difference. They call it 'catching the scent'. They have twin gods, a god and goddess. He is life and beauty and the hunt and the eating of raw flesh and poetry. She is death and blood and the killing blow and painting. Some of them never loose the scent (but very few).

Landmark

The Remembrance.
Inside of the turtle's shell, some of them have realised that they are dwindling and have become obsessed with recording their history. Every myth, every genealogy and personal memoir is being written down and etched into the shell to be remembered even though their histories are usually in the oral tradition. To be remembered even if their people die out.

Resident

Adrea. One of the princesses. Has become obsessed with finding a cure for her people, but has focused her attention on plants. Her secret garden is full of poisonous plants and experiments in an attempt the birth of males.

Fergy the dolphin lives on forever in this D&D game. The friendliest dolphin who is obsessed with trying to steal the restaurant fancy food. Swims in the dark, has knocked out more than one waiter, but know the route by heart.

Event

The Gala. Post Mating Season, everyone showing off their rewards. Those who laid larger clutches are given rewards. Their singing songs like whale song, drums, strings and sounds terrible above water, but beautiful underneath. Also a fashion show, with armour, weapons and accessories being far more important than clothing. Necklaces of pearls, and pearls are the currencty.

Maybe scouts are being sent out to try and find a new home, but the dwarves want them to stay and are willing to sabotage and kill these scouts to ensure that they do
