Desert of Hipet

*This desert was once a rich garden, belonging to a giant of old that rose to the roof of the sky itself. Very few giants remain in the world now, and all of them minuscule compared to what they once were.

At the edge of the desert, there lies the ruins of a giant castle, and it's vast, tumbled walls are easily be mistaken for mountains. The desert and the ruins are named for the word etched over the towering doorway, which is believed to be the giant's name. The ruins are over-run with undead and mushroom creatures.

*The area stretching out from the mountains to the plains, encasing the city of Fabhcún.

Extra Lore

During The Chaos, this desert became what it is today. The giants of the land all vanished or were shrunk. The garden withered and dried to dust, turning from something lush and beautiful to a wasteland. Some flowers and plants turned to stone or glass, leaving traces of what once was. The Goliaths claim that they once were giants, who shrank on purpose to avoid the lightening and fire that crossed the sky. The Orc here tell stories tell how the last of the great cactuses violently ripped themselves from the ground, and turned into the first Orcs to escape from the terror of the storm. This differs from how Orcs in other places claim to have come into being.

During the Age of Discovery, the desert was largely unchanged, except for those that went into the ruins to discover what they could. Undead monsters came from the ruins and almost destroyed all others who lived here, but they were aided by a great many Bronze Dragons.

Barbarian tribes of Orcs and Goliath's have no love for the Empire during The Era of Empires, and constant war, raiding parties and internal power-struggles are the norm here. Three Bronze dragons fly over the sky, refusing to rest in the same place for too long for fear of being destroyed. They no longer help the gnomes after leading them here and convincing the Orc and Goliath tribes to take them in, believing that they must be strong enough to survive on their own. Most tribes believe their debt to the Bronze dragons fulfilled by this, although some still seek to re-establish the species and help them grow stronger. A few hope to convince the dragons to become part of their own tribes, and a few sorcerers have been born as a result of their...eh...persuasion.
