The Fountain Wake
Lake Promenade. High class, day-time entertainment district. Lined by wine bars, restaurants, shops, designers, jewellers, galleries, and open-air theatre. The waters of the mineral lake are said to have healing properties, so there are many fountains along it.
The Tranquil Tides boarding house for respectable young people
Originally two tall and narrow buildings, the sisters Kassie and Kellie converted this building into a boarding house. The uppers floors of the building remain completely separate, while the downstairs has a large common area, kitchen and study. The boys who come to stay do so in one side, and the girls in the other. The sisters started this business to help relatives from their small village begin life and find respectable opportunities once sent to the city, but have since opened it up more to the public (provided you come with three character references and two months deposit).
Painter's Peak
Neighbourhood on top of a hill, with lovely views. Artists set up and sell their wares on the streets. Some cafes and restaurants. A lot of apartments and a thriving artistic community. Tiered gardens are close by.
The Almanac Creatura
A circular tower lifting from a small, man-made island in the lake. Every known species is depicted there, with space left for things unknown.
The Gallery
A restaurant that used to be a famous artist's studio. Some of his works still are on display inside, and all works decorating the restaurant are for sale.
The Commons
Greenery commons. On the weekends, or another day of rest, this is where people gather to rest and be around each other. Children play, couples spend time together, communities gather. There are benches and small stages and gazebos and such for people to make use of.
The Lost Museum
Full of replicas of gnomish technologies with plaques talking about how dangerous all of these devices were. A monument to the tragedies of the war. Run by Ailmon Omacan (when he's around), and by his assistant and adopted daughter Lana when he is not.
Charm Street
Neighbourhood. Jewellery area, where charms are made for important life events such as engagements, having children, getting promoted. These can be worn in multiply ways, such as necklaces, bracelets of even in one's hair.
Tower of the Princess
A fake set up for a mythical fairy tale that was said to have taken place in the city when it was still a small village. Tourist attraction. Home to the recently awakened spirit Willow.
The Flower Market
In the centre of the town is a large, open square filled with stalls selling beautiful flowers. The four roads leading in are larger here than at any other point in the city, for carts transporting the flowers all over the Empire. A small number of stall make and sell teas, pastries and small cakes from the flowers here. The square is lined with cherry blossom trees.
The Lover's Lake
A small island with trees that is somewhat easily accessed for some private time. A clear size of visiting is the wet patches up to the knee to cross the sandbank to reach the secluded area.
Peach Blossom Cemetery
The biggest and only official graveyard of the city. Still has quite a bit of space as the city is growing quickly, but concerns about space are starting to arise. Leading some people to begin to suggest that the older graves be donated to material use by the wizards of the Empire, or used to make some kind of fertilizer for the flower fields. These suggestions has not been well received.
The Pembrella Station House
Main guard house of the city, although there are many more, smaller guard houses placed around the city (usually built into the inside of the walls that surround the city).
Temple House
Temple for all dominations recognised and approved by the Empire. Religious worship is encouraged in Baint, once it does not affect one's work within the city and for the Empire at large. There are also small shrines placed around the city, usually in little alcoves or on small shelves with a covering over them - but this is the only place really for people to gather in their worship.
Mister Caine's Barber shop and medical school
Located in the more crowded, and poorer Southern half of the city, Mister Caine opened his shop after failing to become a butcher. He has a backroom he takes medical students in so that they may dissect pigs and cows and...other things...to get a better understanding of how a body works. This is supplementary to his work as a barber, which is his main source of income. He has also been known to help the undertakers of the city with the fixing of a client's hair before their final rest. Say what you want about the man, he may be gruff and unfriendly, but he knows his way around a razor.
Wayfairer's Tavern
One of many taverns in the city. While it has few regulars, it is known for being clean and reasonably priced to those who pass through the city often. The owner is known for being fair. He allows Hasher to come in and clean the place once they close and even pays him for doing so.
Danbur-Re townhouse
Impressive home on mainstreet where Lady Danbur-Re lives.
